I’ve been exploring a new direction in Sketch Stretching.
In 101, I sketch my thoughts and feelings. In 202, I let bodily sensations guide the pencil. Now, in 303, I’m exploring something different: What if the body itself becomes the sketch?

Imagine a ball of energy representing the silver ball in a pinball machine, bouncing from side to side, changing direction, and lighting up targets wherever it makes contact.
Take a moment if you are not driving right now. Sit, relax, notice your breath and now imagine the pinball machine is the inside of your body. Follow the ball of energy and notice which areas light up most vividly. Perhaps you feel warmth in your chest, pressure in your belly, or an impulse to move.
Pause there. Mindoodle that sensation. Maybe a shoulder rolls, your hips sway, or your arms stretch. One movement invites another, and your body begins to improvise.
You’re no longer drawing a picture of your experience. Your body becomes the sketch, expressing the experience through movement, breath, and sensation.
I wonder if happiness sometimes emerges this way—not by thinking our way toward it, but by loosening our grip and participating more fully in the moment.
101: I sketch my experience.
202: I let my experience shape the sketch.
303: I become the sketch in motion.
What might happen if you let your body have a little more say today?
