Balanced Meditation Posture 12-20-2018

Right now! Take an instant mental image of your posture.          Don’t move!

You know ——- you could be more relaxed, more at ease and perhaps even happier.

What is holding you back?

How much of your flowing sense of self and well being is reflexive and intertwined with your posture and the way you carry your body?

Just as your mind tends to reside in the low hanging fruit of current concerns your body tends to slump into a lazy resistance to the pull of gravity.

However, if your body sat or stood in balance like an upside  down broom stick resting on one finger you would find that gravity actually helps you to be relaxed.

Meditation being a balance of the two tensions of mind and body is enhanced by posture.

The less dust on the surface of a mirror the clearer the reflection.

The less muscle energy used resisting gravity or the less energy of thought needed to hold distracting thoughts out of mind the deeper your meditation.

Posture is a balance of its two halves. Posture of the body and posture of the mind. 3F49C0E2-8B6D-40BF-9070-F3792FF1BDF4

Imagine and then physically sit or stand as tall as you can and then relax everything not needed to hold you up. Be fully balanced. Image a string gently pulling you up from the top of your head.

Next in you mind’s eye picture yourself in perfect balance sitting or standing weightless in space. Fully enlivened and omnipresent.

Begin by touching this balance of body mind posture and then letting it go. With some practice you will find its connection to truly deepening your meditation and sense of well being.
