Happiness Now 11-4-2018

Happiness is not something to be gained. In any moment the only thing needed to do is to drop the thought, “I am not happy.”

Stillness is the center of happiness. All thoughts other than happiness create doubt as to their outcome. When the cramping thoughts of doubt are dropped the natural happiness still remains.

Rising simultaneously with thoughts of doubt or unhappiness are bodily sensations, feelings and emotions.   A candle flame flickering in a breeze but holding tightly to its wick becomes completely still when the wind drops away. In the same manner when your body becomes still the winds of doubt subside and the stillness of happiness rises into awareness.

Nothing needs to be done to make room for happiness, it is enough that the restrictive thoughts of doubt be removed.   Happiness is not brought in from elsewhere.

 

BE STILL

 

To be still sit with your body erect. Imagine sitting as tall as you can while sitting as relaxed as you can be.   Imagine the erect form of a flagpole and the relaxed nature of a flag interacting with the wind. windless boat waterAnd then imagine the wind stops, the flag settles, and the pole becomes still. Follow the slow even smooth flow of your breath in and out; sitting tall on each in breath and relaxing everything else that is not needed to hold you up on the out breath.

Scan your body slowly from head to toe relaxing any area that has retained tension. Let these areas become still like the settling snow flakes in a shaken snow globe.

You can become still.

As thoughts of future and past drop away so will doubt and any thoughts of unhappiness.

 

The glow of your natural happiness will shine.
