Sketch Your Mind. Stretch Your Perspective.
Join us for a peaceful Friday morning walk along the Rivanna River where walking, noticing, and simple sketching come together in a practice of mindful awareness.
You don’t need to be an artist. Sketch Stretching isn’t about learning to draw. It’s about bringing what is in your mind onto paper with a few simple marks. Sketching is almost like talking with your hands.
As we walk, we’ll pause to notice what captures our attention and explore it through quick sketches. The sketch becomes a way to see your thoughts instead of simply thinking them.
What Is Sketch Stretching?
Thoughts come and go. A sketch gives one of those moments a place to land.
By making a simple sketch, you can step back, observe it, and discover patterns, connections, and possibilities that are often missed when thoughts remain inside your head.
No artistic experience is needed—only a willingness to notice.
