Sit for a moment and watch something move.
Leaves in the wind, a candle flame,
ripples in a puddle.
Let your eyes follow the motion,
but don’t name it,
don’t analyze it
just watch.
Now, notice what happens inside. The usual pull of thoughts, the habit of commentary, might still be there, but something else appears: a quiet presence beneath the movement. The more the eyes rest on the swaying leaves or shifting water, the more that quiet becomes apparent.
It’s as if the mind, always in motion, recognizes stillness by contrast. By anchoring awareness to something moving outside, a steadiness inside becomes clear. Like standing at the edge of the ocean, feeling the waves crash while the deep water beneath remains unmoved.
This doorway into awareness is always open. Not to be solved, only stepped through.
