Emptiness Awareness Responsiveness Happiness and Ease of Well Being 1-26-2019

Where the rubber meets the road creates the contact that allows you to go in the direction of your choosing. Although if the road is covered with water or ice you may end up somewhere you would rather not be. At the junction of emptiness and awareness you can tune in and turn your steering wheel to the responsiveness that returns you to the ease of well-being. Although your habits and conditioned responses put up ruts and road blocks that can impede you progress.

Imagine all of the waves or beams of sunlight that are radiating out from the sun. The relative emptiness of space is actually filled with waves of sunlight traveling outward and unimpeded until they come in contact with something and are then reflected back. A planet or space ship becomes visible when it is in the path of the sun beams. Until then the sun beams are filling space, but without contacting anything space appears to be empty.

Imagine the thoughts in your mind to be the space ships traveling through the emptinessempitiness awareness responsiveness of your mind.   Only when a thought, impression, sense contact, feeling or perception occurs does it reflect back to your as awareness of that thought. Prior to that your mind appears to be empty. Too often the almost continual thoughts crowd out the sense of emptiness and we are thrown into a rut or mood.

However your very own thoughts can become you best ticket to the ease of well-being that we all aspire towards. Like placing or removing furniture into and out of an empty house you can move thoughts into and out of your mind.

Each thought is matched with an individual concurrent physical sensation. When you notice a sensation that becomes uncomfortable that thought becomes a trigger to remind you to drop that thought. The physical sensation is like an alarm clock buzzing to pull you out of your thoughts. To wake you up to your choice of letting go of thoughts you do not want and thinking more of the ones you do want.

Remember until your mind becomes aware of a thought your mind is empty. The thought appears as a piece of furniture placed into an empty room.   To take the thought out become aware that it requires both the emptiness of your mind and its contact with awareness of the thought for it to become present in your mind (just like the space ship and sun beams). Once you notice the junction of emptiness and awareness the solution is to act with pre-planned responsiveness. That is you have a window into the workings of your mind. A break in the action. A commercial. A chance to stop and momentarily re-evaluate what you would prefer your response to be to whatever the thought or situation that has presented itself to you.

In that gap of awareness you might choose to act with compassion, humility, gratitude, loving kindness, stillness or peace. You might choose one emotion to respond with to all circumstances for possibly one hour and then try another. See what feels better. See what leaves you with more happiness of mind, happiness of body and ease of well-being.

You habits and past conditioned responses can be altered by your desire to not continue to relive all of your past emotional reactions as they travel with you through the present and into the future. You can nudge, in the present, the snow ball rolling down the hill of your life to veer off and choose a different horizon.
