Breath watching is like bird watching 4-6-2018

Imagine after a full day sinking into your favorite chair, taking in a full slow breath and then relaxing completely exhaling a soothing sigh.
How long does that take? 10 seconds?
Do you have to be home with your favorite chair to be able to do it?

Learn to relax anywhere NOW
Breath watching is like bird watching
Watch for shifts in muscle relaxation softening
Scan your internal sense of muscles
Let gravity pull your sagging muscles
Let your muscles hang on your bones
Release into spiritual gravity
Feel a smile on your lips and feel your eyes widen
The amount you relax is equal to effort put into resisting wandering thoughts

Be with 100 % on what is happening now not what you are trying or intending to do
Cultivate and transfer this focus of attention to now to any task at hand
Think about what you are doing while you are doing it. Be mindful. Be here now.
What is the one thing you love to do so much you have no other thought while you are doing it?  Find that focus in breath meditation. Find it elsewhere. What if everything you do was with that joy?

Imagine eating a hot dog (or tofu) really righot doght now stop reading and close your eyes and think “bite hot dog chew”

Now try it again and as you are imagining eating it; exactly at the same time say and repeat in your mind “hot dog bun mustard sauerkraut — hot dog bun mustard sauerkraut– hot dog bun mustard sauerkraut”

Grok the eating of the dog. You decide which tastes better. Which is more intertwined with life?

For the next minute practice
Thinking/doing. Thinkdo watching
You can also practice by watching whatever your hands are doing

Things may go better with Coke but it gets even better when you are thinking

“drinking Coke drinking Coke drinking Coke as you actually are drinking Coke

It works with everything

Even relaxing into this moment

Just think as you sit “sitting relax sitting relax sitting relax”
